In less than a minute a test breathing in Singapore locates COVID-19 according to the local start up that developed the product.
Breathonix, a company from the University of Singapore, announced that it is now working with the Ministry of Health to begin trial use of the product at one of the border crossings with Malaysia.
In a pilot clinical trial conducted in Singapore this detection device coronavirus through breathing had a success rate greater than 90%.
How does it work
The device has disposable nozzles to prevent infection of users. After the person is blown into the device, it analyzes the chemical components of the breath to determine if someone is infected with covid-19 or not.
Anyone who tests positive in this test should also undergo a molecular test, Breathonix explained.
The company pointed out that it is in discussions with several domestic and international organizations for the use of its test and spoke of great commercial interest. Other countries, such as Indonesia and the Netherlands, have developed similar tests that detect covid-19 through respiration, according to the APE-MPE, citing Reuters.
