Brexit: UK asks EU for grace period extension until 2023

The United Kingdom has requested an extension of the grace period until 2023 in the commercial controls that would be carried out between Northern Ireland and the rest of the Kingdomreports BBC News, citing the letter from the Cabinet Office secretary, Michael Gove, to the Vice President of the European Commission, Maros Sefcovic.

Reuters reports that the two parties had agreed to a three-month grace period for controls on food products that supermarkets and some wholesale groups transport from Great Britain to Northern Ireland, as part of the Brexit agreement.
