The family’s lawyer Brian Laundrie released on Friday (24) eight pages of Laundrie’s notebook that was found near her remains in Florida, United States in October of last year, according to a press release obtained by the CNN .
“I am sorry to everyone that this will affect. Gabby was the love of my life, but I know she was adored by many. I feel sorry for her family because I love them,” Laundrie wrote.
On another page, he talked about the influencer Gabby Petito have been injured and tried to help her.
“I don’t know the extent of Gabby’s (sic) wounds, it’s just that she was in a lot of pain. I ended her life, I thought it was merciful, which was what she wanted, but I see now all the mistakes I’ve made. I panicked. I was in shock. But from the moment I decided, I took the pain away from her, I knew I couldn’t go on without her,” he wrote.
Petito’s cause of death was ruled strangulation and the manner of death was homicide, said Teton County Coroner, Dr. Brent Blue.
Laundrie family attorney Steven Bertolino said he released the notebook pages after a meeting with the FBI and a lawyer for Petito’s family, where they collected the couple’s personal belongings.
“As part of this return of property to FBI custody, I received Brian’s notebook. I would like to share with the public the note that the FBI alluded to on January 21, 2022, in which Brian claimed responsibility for the death of Gabby Petito,” Bertolino said.
Bertolino released eight pages of the notebook, and the order of the pages in the notebook that was recovered is not known.
On the last page released, Laundrie wrote: “I killed myself near this stream in the hope that the animals (sic) might tear me to pieces. May it make some of your family happy.”
The last words on the page, written with a different pen than the previous ones, read “Please take all my stuff. Gabby hated people who litter.”
