Breaking news: Selena Gomez just added the title of “bridal influencer” to her already long list of accolades, which also includes those of singer, actress, producer and entrepreneur. Not only did she throw away the classic bridal rule book, but she also came up with an explosive makeup alternative that wouldn’t look out of place on the red carpet.
It goes without saying that Selena Gomez would make a beautiful bride. But the behind-the-scenes photos the actress showed on the set of the third season of her hit television series Only Murders in the Building they confirmed as is splendid even only in interpreting those who are going to get married.
In some shots shared on Instagram, Selena has a fairytale wedding dress, complete with an embroidered lace veil and delicate white satin gloves. But what really got our hearts racing was her character Mabel’s wedding makeup.

Instead of opting for the classic nude and more subdued shades, she showed off proud pops of color by setting social media ablaze. Let’s talk about cherry red lips that go against tradition, where a bold lip is considered a misstep. Instead of the classic rosy blush, hers cheeks are sculpted with a bronzer. There were also eyelashes highlighted by black mascara and an elongated chocolate brown smoky cat-eye framed by perfectly volumised and drawn brows.
In other words, this is Selena’s reimagined wedding beauty, without a hint of the usual beige-to-nude tones.
Her hair, on the other hand, was pulled back and pulled into a loose bun made from a braid, with some wisps framing her face, so that the look had something whimsical, like the white Dr Martens boots matched the dress .
Given that Hulu’s comedy-drama, which also stars Martin Short and Steve Martin, was the most-watched comedy series on the streaming platform during its 2021 premiere, we expect this bridal look and everywhere on Pinterest boards. And just in time for this year’s spring and summer weddings.
