Bride passed out during wedding while guests watched in horror

“I think I'm going to pass out,” the 28-year-old said bride Kathryn Franks, a speech therapist from Louisiana, USA, in a story that trended on TikTok with more than 500,000 views. That was the last thing the blonde remembered whispering to her 26-year-old husband-to-be, teacher by profession, Alex, right after they said yes during marriage them on July 7, 2023.

It was very hot that day, according to Kennedy News and Media.

“The next thing I remember is waking up and seeing nothing but boots around me,” said Franks, who had collapsed from heat and dehydration. “My father and my husband both wore cowboy boots.”

In the moments before her fall, the bride tried to ignore the signs. “We get to the wedding and we get to the ceremony and I start to feel a little dizzy in the church with everyone watching,” she said.

“I think we just said 'I do' and we were waiting for the last prayer so we could be formally married,” he added. “But we were standing there for about 40 minutes” in front of 300 guests.

“My husband knew something was wrong and kept looking at me,” she said. “I started to feel really dizzy.”

Franks finally collapsed as stunned wedding attendees looked on in shock. Alex and a bridesmaid, as well as worried guests, rushed to her aid, fanning her as she lay slumped on the floor.

She nevertheless went to the wedding party, during which her loved ones repeatedly inquired about her condition.

“I went to the emergency room the next day because we think I had a virus and I was so dehydrated,” she said. “At the time it was painful, but now we think about it and laugh. Now it's funny.”

“He made the day unforgettable! Now it's a family joke.”

Franks is expecting a baby girl in April. “This will be a funny moment we can share with our daughter for years to come!”
