“Bridge collapse”: Russia’s official announcement – 7 dead and dozens of injuries

Russia’s Research Committee announced today that the collapse of bridges in the regions of Bryansk and Kursk was caused by explosions. Two bridges collapsed into two different regions bordering Ukraine, derailing trains, resulting in the deaths of at least 7 people and injuring dozens of others. The disaster was recorded a few hours after the collapse of a road bridge in the neighboring Bryansk District, resulting in a derailment of a passenger train – this accident has at least seven dead and nearly seventy injured, according to regional governor Alexander Bogomaz. According to Kursk’s regional governor Hinstein, the freight train “fell on the road under the bridge” and “caught fire”. His drivers were injured and taken to a hospital, he added.
