A bridge collapsed on the morning of this Wednesday (28) on BR-319, in Amazonas, near the city of Careiro. At least 14 people were injured and were taken to health facilities in Manaus.
Teams from the Department of Public Security (SSP-AM), Fire Department, Civil Defense and Secretary of State for Health (SES-AM) went to the scene with divers and advanced support ambulances.
Governor Wilson Lima informed that he suspended the campaign agenda this Wednesday to “coordinate actions in support of victims” and that a committee was set up with representatives from various security, health and social assistance bodies.
Ferries will also be sent to move cars while the federal government rebuilds the structure. Finally, it was informed that the National Department of Infrastructure and Transport (Denit) is responsible for the administration of the place the accident occurred, and is working on the spot.
