Bridgerton 2, the three protagonists speak: “Is love better today or in the Regency Era?”

The duke is not here, but we have the viscount. The second season of the Shonda Rhimes, based on the novels of Julia Quinn, is now available on Netflix. The first, just to give an idea, reached 82 million spectators worldwide (a real record, exceeded only last summer by Squid Game).

The protagonist now is, therefore, Viscount Anthony Bridgerton, elder brother of our Daphne, who succeeded last season in the enterprise of marrying the handsome Duke of Hastings, absent here due to the desire for new sets. Lord Anthony has decided this is the year he will find his viscountess. However, he does not want love. Too complicated, and slowly we will find out why. He sets his sights on the most promising young woman of the season, Queen Charlotte’s diamond, but complicating matters will be her older sister. The two are Edwina and Kate Sharma, who came from India to London only to find a husband for the youngest.

The script – even if with less sex and more verbal fights – it is always the same: there are dances, intrigues, love at first sight, calculated marriages, secret loves and above all gossip, revealed by the no longer without identity Lady Whistledown.

And this is what the three protagonists – Jonathan Bailey (Anthony Bridgerton), Kate (Simone Ashley) and Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran) – told us in our video interview.
