Bridgerton 3, the second part has arrived on Netflix: will the truth about Lady Whistledown be revealed?

The day long awaited by Bridgerton fans has arrived: from today, on Netflix, the last four episodes (4 to 8) of the third season.

The undisputed protagonist remains Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), to whom Colin (Luke Newton), after a romantic kiss, had declared his love and asked to marry him at the end of the first part. In this second part, the couple shows up together at the Bridgerton house and announces their engagement. The only one not to be overwhelmed by their happiness is Eloise (Claudia Jessie), still angry and sad about the breakup with Penelope. Colin exhibits his deep feelings towards Penelope, and plans their future together. But Penelope has to face an unexpected event: Queen Charlotte (Gold Rosheuvel) places a £5,000 bounty on Lady Whistledown. Everyone wants to find out who she is, and Colin especially wants to, whose family was offended by the words of the mysterious writer. Penelope feels she is in trouble, and she would like to reveal the secret to free herself from such a great burden, but she can’t find the courage.

Such an inconvenient truth is difficult to hide, and the fear of being exposed makes Penelope scared and nervous. The stakes are very high: How would the man she’s always been in love with react? Yet Lady Whistledown means so much to her: it allowed her to emerge from anonymity, to hold the kingdom in her hands and also to be feared. Now you have to choose: either give up on Lady Whistledown, or accept the consequences of the truth, which could be terrible. Will Colin and Penelope finally get married? We will find out in these last episodes of the series.

Meanwhile, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) returns to Mayfair with his wife Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley). Francesca (played by Hannah Dodd) is increasingly attracted to Count John Stirling (Victor Alli), who reciprocates her feelings: together they will make an important decision. Lady Danbury (Adjoa Adoh) instead has to manage disagreements with Lord Marcus Anderson (Daniel Francis), which will be exacerbated when Marcus shows interest in Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell). Cressida Cowper (Jessica Madsen), Eloise’s new friend, has been promised in marriage by her parents to a very elderly nobleman, and the only way to avoid it is to find enough money to support herself. Maybe the queen size would come in handy.

These episodes are also set in some of the most sumptuous homes in Bath and London. The costumes, interiors and exteriors are designed down to the smallest detail, to allow spectators to immerse themselves once again in the romantic atmosphere of the Regency era.
