Bridgerton 4: What Will Happen in Benedict’s Season? We’ll Tell You

Now that Netflix has formally announced that the fourth season of Bridgerton will focus on the character of Blessedthe confirmed bachelor of the family, it’s time to ask ourselves what will happen in the new episodes, considering that they will refer to the events told in Julia Quinn’s third novel, A Gentleman’s Proposal. Let’s start, however, from how we left off since, at the end of the third season of Bridgertonwe saw Benedict start a three-way relationship with his new flame Lady Tilley Arnold (Hannah New) and his friend Paul (Lucas Aurelio). After Tilley’s encouragement to explore sex with more people until he finds himself very open – Benedict appears, in fact, to be fluid and pansexualcaring more about a person’s soul than their gender -, things change quickly when the girl decides to return to an exclusive relationship with Bridgerton who, at that point, decides to pull out, not recognizing himself as ready to settle down yet.

Although his older brother Anthony and his younger brother Colin are both happily married, Benedict, who until then has always shown a certain reluctance to settle down, will begin to see his certainties creak thanks to Sophie, illegitimate daughter of a count that, after the latter’s death, she is relegated to the role of servant by her stepmother Araminta and her daughters – yes, it’s Cinderella.

Upon their first meeting, Benedict and Sophie immediately establish a connection, at least until the clock it strikes midnight and the girl disappears into thin air without the man knowing her name. From that moment on, Benedict develops a real obsession towards her, vowing to marry her. In the book, however, two years will pass before their paths will cross again, considering that Sophie will start working as a maid for Violet Bridgerton even if Benedict will not be able to recognize her at first, even proposing her to become his new lover. Being Bridgerton a fairy tale with a happy ending, it is easy to imagine that things will sooner or later settle down between the two, although it will be interesting to understand how the series will build the story, given that the writers have thought of inserting some not insignificant variations in Benedict’s story, such as, precisely, the character of Lady Tilley Arnold, who does not appear in the books. According to the new showrunner Jess Brownellit was a way to assert Benedict’s sexual freedom as well as a way to let him “let off steam” before he gets settled down, even though, right now, fans can’t wait to see him settle down.
