I know your last weekend was marred by the news that Regé Jean Page, aka the Duke of Hastings, will not appear in the second season of Bridgerton. To announce it on Twitter was the official account of the series through the words of the mysterious Lady Whistledown.
Your Grace, it has been a pleasure. 💜🐝 pic.twitter.com/kX1nIG8pz7

Resuming the news, the actor explained that, for him, it was a great honor and privilege to be part of the cast. Among the reasons for the farewell there would be first of all a contractual clause – Page in fact he would have signed to be present only in the first eight episodes – e the desire not to remain too attached to the character of Simon Basset so as to devote himself to other projects for cinema and TV. In fact, he is experiencing a particularly fortunate moment: he will be one of the protagonists, alongside Ryan Gosling e Chris Evans, in the brothers’ new film Russo, The Gray Man, and in Dungeons & Dragons with Michelle Rodriguez e Chris Pine. In short, there will still be other opportunities to see him again, even if no longer alongside Daphe Bridgerton.
But we fans of the series have nothing to be discouraged about. The new episodes are already in the works and there are already several news to dramatically increase our hype.
Let’s start from the plot that, for this next chapter, will largely concern Anthony Bridgerton, the older brother of Daphne, and his search for love. The events will be freely drawn from The viscount who loved me, the second book in the saga of Julia Quinn. “There will be a lot of twists and turns and ups and downs,” he revealed Jonathan Bailey who plays the role of Anthony. Among these also the entry on the scene of two new characters: the sisters Kate ed Edwina Sharma. It will be especially the first – played by Simone Ashley (that’s right: it is Olivia of Sex Education) – to make the viscount lose his head and, from what the producers and the same have anticipated Quinn, their love story will be quite tormented and even the new duchess of will get in the way Hastings.
Get ready to fall in love with Simone Ashley, who will play Kate in Season 2 of Bridgerton.
Kate is a smart, headstrong young woman who suffers no fools — Anthony Bridgerton very much included. ` pic.twitter.com/xdVilOjL4Y

Besides them (Charithra Chandran Sara Edwina), there are also other new entries: Shelley Conn (Mary Sharma), Calam Lynch (Theo Sharpe) e Rupert Young (Jack).
Bridgerton has added four actors to Season 2:

The rest of the cast is absolutely confirmed, indeed there have already been some sightings of the historical members in Bath, one of the main locations of the series. Unfortunately, although it was announced by Netflix and is currently in production, we do not yet know when the season will be available on the platform. We hope soon. And, as someone mentioned on Twitter, the next episodes do not look bad at all: we will be spoiled for choice as to who will replace the Duke of Hastings in our heart.
Oh well the Duke will not be there (I’m definitely sorry but we have a whole season on him🥺) but let’s remember who the real star of #Bridgerton 🔥
Yes Benedict my baby you too ❤ pic.twitter.com/ezHSjj1etg
