Bridgerton: that’s when the second season comes out on Netflix

The wait is over. After a long and troubled preparation, interrupted several times due to the pandemic, the second and highly anticipated season of Bridgerton finally has a release date: March 25, 2022. It will be then, in fact, that the series conceived by Shonda Rhimes will land on Netflix resuming to tell the adventures and intrigues of the Bridgerton family who, between dances, parties and fuitines, is preparing to entertain the public once again. After telling the story of Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), the new episodes will focus on a new character, namely Anthony, interpreted by Jonathan Bailey, in search of love.

He will find it through meeting with Kate Sharma, played by Simone Ashley, previously seen in Sex Education, a self-confident, stubborn and crafty woman, qualities that make her a more unique than rare case in the 1814 marriage market, within which Kate hopes to find true love for her eager younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) to make his dream come true. To look out in Bridgerton 2 they will, however, also be Lady Mary Sharma, played by Shelley Conn, who gave up the title of countess to escape with her true love, and the great Lady Danbury, played by Adjoa Andoh.

For the rest, Bridgerton 2, beyond the absence of Regé-Jean Page, who chose not to end up like Dr. Shepherd by slipping off the project before being stuck forever in the character of the Duke, will see the return of all the characters we got to appreciate in the first season: from Eloise (Claudia Jessie) to Colin (Luke Newton), up, of course, to Penelope (Nicola Coughlan). Meanwhile, Netflix moves forward: Bridgerton it was, in fact, confirmed for another two seasons for the happiness of showrunner Chris Van Dausen, who in his heart hoped that the project would continue to follow all the novels of the romantic saga created by the pen of Julia Quinn, albeit with the necessary differences to make the series aligned with the spirit of the times. All beautiful, for heaven’s sake, yet a doubt remains: whether it was above all that was most impressed by the first season the spoon with which the Duke makes love, are we really sure that everything else will be solid enough to make it into season four?
