Bridgerton, the trailer for the prequel about Queen Charlotte is out

All royal secrets are about to be revealed. Looking forward to the episodes on Netflix May 4thhere comes the first trailer de Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, miniseries born from the idea of the Regency novels by Julia Quinn (published in Italy by Mondadori). To be more specific, the character is a figment of the imagination of producer Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy), which will churn out a book on the history of forbidden and royal love between King George and the first color ruler. An interracial marriage like this changed the course of English history in fiction, creating an inclusive melting pot, a hymn to diversity in the most modern sense of the term.

But what do the first pictures show?

First of all, a reluctant Carlotta (India Amarteifio, already seen in Sex Education), who loathes the idea of an arranged marriage, even if the betrothed is the king (Corey Mylchreest).

Between the two is immediately encounter-clash because she tries to climb the walls of the building to escape far, but when the girl crosses his gaze it seems that the heart skips a beat. The wise advice of one of her ladies from her new court, Lady Agatha Danbury (Arsema Thomas), also makes her change her mind.

Not only Carlotta and Giorgio love each other beyond the happiest forecast but they are ready to challenge prejudice, racism and traps of all kinds to unite the kingdom, no longer looking at ethnic differences.

The trailer of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story also shows three faces already known to fans of the series, in the adult version of the characters Adjoia Andoh (Lady Danbury), Golda Rosheuvel (the queen) and Ruth Gemmell (the viscountess Violet Bridgerton).

While the cast of the parent series has just announced the end of filming of the third season, focused on Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan), but without the presence of Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), curiosities about the young and unknown actors of the prequel multiply.

The characters begin to reveal themselves: first of all the king’s mother (Princess Augusta, played by Michelle Fairley) he would like Carlotta to become a child-maker to fill the palace not only with the heir to the throne but with an entire dynasty based on this strategic alliance.

A very welcome surprise for fans is the discovery of how the faithful servant Brimsley (Hugh Sachs in Bridgerton) got to know Carlotta: in the prequel chapter has the face of Sam Clemmett and seems to retain all the impertinence of the character, mixed with servile devotion.

The most awaited scenes of the trailer, however, concern the engagement ring, the court dances and, of course, the coronation of this couple in love but in their own way rebellious. The Regency recipe for success is served: not just romance, but passion and, why not?, a good dose of scandalous impudence.
