Evidence shows that thousands of millionaires are trying to flee Russia and a continuing exodus of the business community and oligarchs is likely to exacerbate the long-term damage caused by the war to its economy, the Pentagon said today.
“Applications for immigration show that 15,000 Russian millionaires are probably already trying to leave,” the ministry said.
On the war front, Russia is likely to try to regain momentum in efforts to encircle the Sheverodonetsk enclave from the south, he added.
Ukrainian officials have said their forces are resisting massive Russian bombardment of this key city in eastern Ukraine and have reported new progress in their counterattack in the south of Ukraine.
