Britain: 150,000 painted hearts for coronavirus victims across parliament

In memory of the victims of his pandemic coronavirus almost 150,000 hearts will decorate a wall opposite the British Parliament from today, Monday (29/3). This moving move was made by a group that supports the families of those who lost relatives to Covid-19.

As broadcast by APE-MPE, the mural will be hundreds of meters long, on the south bank of the Thames, outside St. Thomas Hospital, in the intensive care unit where Prime Minister Boris Johnson was treated when he was diagnosed with the new coronavirus last spring.

The event was organized by the Covid-19 Bereaved Families For Justice group, which is calling for a formal inquiry into the government’s handling of the pandemic.

“Each heart is painted separately and is unique, as well as our loved ones we lost”said Matt Fowler, the group’s co-founder. “Like the scale of our collective loss, this monument will be huge,” he added.

The British government has promised to build a permanent monument once the pandemic is over.
