Tim Megginson, owner of Body Shape Fitness in Ely, England, broke it down Guinness record leading group of climbers to Mera peak, Nepal in a 30-minute fitness class at an altitude of 6,476 meters.
The gymnast took the fitness class after nine days of climbing with his eight companions. “We camped at Mera and on the tenth day we reached the summit at 6,476 metres,” Megginson told the Ely Standard newspaper.
The gymnast aims to surpass the previous record of 5,714 meters (18,746.72 feet) held by participants in the High Altitude Obstacle Course on Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro in 2021.
“Everyone was committed to the project and everyone participated with a positive attitude,” Megginson said. Tim Megginson emphasized that the climb it also included an attempt at chess at the highest altitude.
