Britain achieves vaccination target for nine high-priority groups

The first dose of vaccine against COVID-19 has made it available to Britain across its population over the age of 50, achieving the target of vaccinating the nine high-priority groups by 15 April.

Britain has implemented one of the fastest vaccination programs for him coronavirus globally, as it was behind only Israel in the proportion of its population that received at least one dose of vaccine against COVID-19, as broadcast by AMPE.

The government announced that has offered at least one installment to priority groups from 1 to 9.

These include adults over the age of 50, the clinically vulnerable, but also health and social workers before the target date of Thursday.

“We have now passed another crucial milestone in our vaccination program, offering doses to everyone in the nine highest-risk groups,” the prime minister said in a statement. Boris Johnson.

“We will now move forward with the completion of the important second doses and making progress towards the goal of offering a vaccine to all adults by the end of July,” he added.

Success in the vaccination program reinforced Johnson’s exit roadmap lockdown, as of yesterday, Monday, all the shops and catering outdoors in England were open again.

However, Britain reduce the rate of vaccinations with the first dose, to ensure that people in the priority groups receive the second dose, despite the smaller number of vaccines delivered in April compared to March.

Johnson’s office said the government remains committed to providing a vaccine dose to all adults by July 31.

People over the age of 45 are estimated to be the next age group to be invited to be vaccinated, despite the fact that the final decision has not yet been made, according to the prime minister’s office.

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunity (JCVI) said it expects to pursue an age-based approach to promoting vaccines, rather than prioritizing people based on their work or other risk factors.
