A man armed with a knife and threatening two Defense Department police officers was arrested by British police on Monday, near the official residence of Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

“At around 08:50, a 29-year-old man, armed with a knife, threatened two police officers of the Ministry of Defense. The police placed him under restraint using a taser. There are no reports of injuries,” the Metropolitan Police said in a statement. of London.

“He has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of an assault rifle and remains in custody at a central London police station. The incident is not being linked to terrorism.”

During the incident, the British police excluded the Whitehall road, in the center of London, where many government agencies such as the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense, while leading to Boris Johnson’s office and residence in Downing Street .

Police say they have launched an investigation into the incident at the Horse Guards Parade, a White Parade overlooking St James’s Park.
