Britain will send a large number of firearms and more than 1,600 anti-tank weapons to Ukraine in another arms supply from the West aimed at bolstering the country’s defenses against Russia, Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said today.
The boost comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson last month pledged a further £1bn of military support, bringing Britain’s total support to Ukraine since the start of the war to £2.3bn.
“Together with our international partners, we will ensure that Ukrainians have the tools to defend their country against Putin’s illegal invasion,” Wallace said in a statement.
He added that Britain would provide anti-aircraft radar systems, hundreds of drones and ammunition.
