Britain-Coronavirus: ‘We will do what is necessary’ says the Minister of Health

The British government is monitoring the latest data on COVID-19 almost every hour and will do everything possible to limit its spread, Health Minister Sajid Javid told Sky News today.

According to the minister, the analysis of the data shows that about 60% of all new cases of infection from COVID-19 in England are attributed to the Omicron variant, which has a rapid transmission. However, the country is in a better condition than last Christmas, based on vaccinations and diagnostics.

Asked about possible further steps, Javid replied: “We will do what is necessary, but this must be supported by the data…, we monitor the data, discuss it with our scientists and top advisors on an hourly basis, and we will “We are monitoring them closely to keep the situation under control.”
