The Prime Minister’s staff held regular parties, which he called “Wine Making” during the lockdown in Britain, and Prime Minister Boris Johnson attended, encouraging workers to “spend”, according to the Mirror.
These gatherings were so popular that staff invested 2 142 to buy a beverage cooler to keep the wines and beers cool.
According to the newspaper, the employees went with a suitcase to a supermarket to buy drinks in anticipation of their gathering, on the eve of the funeral of Prince Philip, and this did not happen only that time. Sources cited by the British tabloid reported that Downing Street workers went alternately on Fridays to the local Tesco Metro supermarket, with a suitcase on wheels, to fill their fridge with drinks.
The Mirror writes that Johnson attended “some” such parties, when indoor gatherings were banned as part of measures to deal with the pandemic.
