Britain, Germany and France call on Iran to ‘end nuclear escalation’

Berlin, London and Paris called on Iran on Thursday to “end nuclear escalation” and “immediately accept the agreement on the table” from March, in exchange for the 2015 international agreement on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program. which for the West was intended to prevent any possibility of Tehran acquiring nuclear weapons.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) earlier in the day denounced Iran’s decision to deactivate 27 nuclear surveillance cameras, saying it would deal a “fatal blow” to talks in Vienna. Joint Integrated Action Plan (JDP).

Regarding the proposed agreement from March, “we regret that Iran has not yet seized this diplomatic opportunity,” said a joint statement by Germany, Britain and France, released by the three countries’ foreign ministries. “We urge him to do so immediately.”

Iran has informed the IAEA that it has deactivated “27 cameras” monitoring its facilities, the agency said yesterday, part of the UN system. It was Tehran’s reaction to the IAEA Board’s adoption of a decision recalling it.

We “condemn” the Tehran decision, said Berlin, London and Paris (countries party to the CIS, called for short E3). The Iranian move “will aggravate the situation and complicate our efforts to fully restore” the 2015 agreement, which provided for restrictions on Iran’s nuclear activities in exchange for easing international sanctions.

The international agreement is deadly from 2018, when the US withdrew from the CSD and re-imposed the sanctions it had lifted.

The Iranian response “also fuels doubts about whether Iran is committed to a positive outcome,” according to an E3 statement.

The IAEA monitors and verifies the implementation of the commitments made by Iran in the framework of the agreement it signed in 2015 in Vienna with the major powers.

In April 2021, negotiations resumed in the Austrian capital to rejoin the US in the agreement rejected by the then US President Donald Trump in 2018 and to return Iran to full compliance with its commitments.
