Britain will today welcome Ukrainian representatives and business executives to discuss how UK companies can help rebuild important infrastructure in Kyiv.
Commerce Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelian will seek to promote cooperation between British companies in infrastructure, energy and transport, as well as Ukrainian public bodies and private companies, with the aim of rebuilding damaged infrastructure.
Trevelian will also announce changes to trade recovery measures, including redesigning access to markets for steel imports from Russia and Belarus to other countries, including Ukraine.
Britain has been an active supporter of Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion in February, through the shipment of weapons, as well as the imposition of sanctions against Moscow.
London’s support for Ukraine, which will be launched today, will be part of a package of combined economic, humanitarian and military financial assistance of approximately $ 3 billion (€ 2.85 billion).
The European Union has also offered its support for the reconstruction of Ukraine as soon as the war with Russia is over.
