Britain is setting up an international team of experts on future pandemics and vaccine development

A new team of experts will be formed at the international level Britain, in order to strengthen the country ‘s preparation for the next pandemic, but also to accelerate the development of vaccines against future diseases, when they occur.

According to AMPE, the Pandemic Preparedness Partnership (PPP) was created by the British presidency in the Group of Seven (G7), while referring to the leaders of the economically developed countries participating in it at the June conference, offering advice on achieving the goal of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to develop vaccines against future diseases within 100 days.

“As the G7 presidency, Britain is determined to work with our partners to be better prepared for the future than it was for coronavirus and strengthen global preparedness for future pandemics, “said British Health Secretary Matt Hancock ahead of a two-day G7 conference.

“This new team of experts will guide our efforts in the coming years “to protect people around the world from new diseases, in order to save lives,” the minister explained.

The PPP will be chaired by the head of the British government’s scientific advisers Patrick Valance, and its steering committee includes executives from COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers such as AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson, as well as scientists.

Britain also announced that An additional 16 16 million will be available ($ 22.37 million) for the Innovation for Epidemic Readiness Coalition (CEPI) to support the development and delivery of vaccines worldwide.
