The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday that he was committed to tightening sanctions on Russia in order to bring the maximum financial cost to Moscow, according to a Downing Street spokesman.
The two leaders had a telephone conversation on Wednesday night about the developments in Ukraine in view of the crucial Lavrov-Kuleba meeting in Antalya, Turkey.
Earlier, the British Prime Minister had described as “immoral” the bombing of a maternity hospital in Mariupol, from which 17 people were injured.
“There are few things more immoral than targeting defenseless people,” Boris Johnson said in a Twitter post about the Russian attack on Mariupol.
