The United Nations Secretary-General and the British Prime Minister discussed the Cyprus issue on the sidelines of the G7 taking place these days in Cornwall in the south of England.
According to Downing Street, in this bilateral meeting Boris Johnson and Antonio Guterres among the other international issues discussed were “the peace process in Cyprus”, as stated in the announcement of the British Prime Minister’s Office.
There is no mention of the content of the views exchanged between the two men as the discussion on the Cyprus issue was in the context of a broader exchange of positions on various international issues such as the situation in Yemen, Syria, Libya, etc.
Elsewhere, the British Prime Minister said he supported the Secretary-General’s vision for a more unified UN and for global action against pandemics and climate change. Issues that are being discussed these days at the G7 summit anyway.
