Britain – Knife attack at Notting Hill carnival: 21-year-old rapper dead

A 21-year-old rapper died after knife attack received on Monday night (29/8) at London’s Notting Hill Carnival, which celebrates Caribbean culture and returned after a two-year suspension due to the pandemic, police said.

The victim is a 21-year-old man, who has been identified as rapper Takayo Nebhardt, known as “TKorStretch”.

Police removed him from the crowd and the man received first aid but later died in a west London hospital where he was taken.

The rapper, who hails from Bristol, had gone to the carnival with his sister and friends, his manager told the BBC.

According to British authorities, several other violent incidents and knife attacks occurred during the two-day carnival.

An investigation into the attack, as reported by the Athens News Agency citing British media, is being carried out by the police, who appealed to the public for information, noting that hundreds of people were at the scene.

Police said they made more than 200 arrests and arrests during the event, including 46 for assault, 36 for drug use, 33 for possession of a weapon, 27 for disorderly conduct and eight for sexual assault.

Knife murders occur frequently in London, while the possession of firearms is very strictly controlled.

A spate of stabbing murders has shocked public opinion this summer, including an 87-year-old man who was stabbed as he got around in his electric wheelchair.
