A man was fatally injured in a knife attack last night at London’s Notting Hill Carnival, which celebrates Caribbean culture and has returned after a two-year suspension due to the pandemic, police said.

The victim is a 21-year-old man, identified as rapper Takayo Nebhardt, known as “TKorStretch”, who was attacked with a knife in Ladbroke Grove last night.

Police removed him from the crowd and the man received first aid but later died in a west London hospital where he was taken.

According to his manager, the rapper, who is originally from Bristol, had attended the carnival with his sister and friends.

According to British authorities, several other violent incidents and knife attacks occurred during the two-day carnival.

The attack is being investigated by police, who appealed to the public for information, noting that hundreds of people were at the scene.

Police said they made more than 200 arrests and arrests during the event, including 46 for assault, 36 for drug use, 33 for possession of a weapon, 27 for disorderly conduct and eight for sexual assault.

Knife murders occur frequently in London, while the possession of firearms is very strictly controlled.
