Britain: Police on standby to remove squatters from Russian oligarch’s mansion

The British police intervened today to remove a group of people who captured a mansor in London, which is considered to belong to the Russian billionaire OLEG DRERIKAKA, who joined last week to the list of persons against whose penalties from Britain will be imposed response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Wearing special repression equipment, police officers entered many millions, to which they had occupied in Bellgrey Square earlier, in a luxurious neighborhood of the British capital, where many foreign embassies are housed.

However, they remained at a distance from the squatters, who had gathered on the balcony, in front of the building, where they had hung a Ukrainian flag and placed a banner with the words “This property has been liberated”.

“You occupy Ukraine, we occupy you,” said a statement from the squatters, who described themselves as anarchists.

“By occupying this mansion, we want to show our solidarity with the Ukrainian people, but also with the Russian people who never agreed to this madness.”

Police said they searched the property and are satisfied as there is no one inside.

“We continue to deal with the people on the balcony as we weigh the need for law enforcement with the safety of all involved,” police wrote on Twitter.

Last Thursday, Britain seized the assets of Deripaska, one of the Russian oligarchs he targeted after the invasion of Ukraine.

Deripaska, who owns shares in energy company En + Group, has assets worth 2 2 billion and a set of multimillion-pound properties in Britain, the British government has said.

London points out that Deripaska is closely linked to the Russian government and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Deripaska has been identified as the owner of the Belgrave mansion in documents from the London High Court since 2007. A judge examining the case a year ago had said that the property and another property he owned outside the British capital were then worth 40 40 million.
