Britain will be able to impose sanctions on hundreds of people on March 15 if the emergency legislation is passed as planned, Foreign Secretary Liz Tras said on Monday.
“If parliament approves the legislation by Monday, March 14, we will be able to impose sanctions on hundreds of people by next Tuesday, March 15,” he said.
Britain promises an additional 5 175 million for Ukraine
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Monday that his government is pledging another 5 175m ($ 230.28m) in aid to Ukraine to help it deal with a growing humanitarian crisis.
The additional funding raises British support for Ukraine to about 400 400 million, he said.
“I am announcing an additional 5 175 million in British aid to Ukraine, $ 100 million of which will be provided directly to the Ukrainian government,” Johnson told a news conference.
