Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have been invited to the coronation of his father, King Charles, but will not yet announce whether they will attend, a spokesman for the couple said today.
Preparations for the ceremony, which will take place in May, have been overshadowed by revelations Harry made about the king, heir to the throne Prince William and other members of the royal family in his recent autobiography, in a Netflix platform documentary and in his various television interviews.
Because of these developments, doubts were expressed about whether Charles would invite Harry to the coronation but also about if the latter would accept the invitation.
“I can confirm that the Duke has recently received correspondence, via email, from Her Majesty’s Office regarding the coronation,” Harry’s spokesman said. “The decision as to whether the Duke and Duchess will attend will not be revealed by us at this time,” he added.
