Queen Elizabeth, 95, tested positive for the coronavirus and has mild symptoms but is expected to continue her basic duties in Windsor this week, Buckingham Palace announced today.
The announcement adds that the queen has symptoms of a common cold.
“He will continue to receive medical care and follow all necessary instructions,” the statement added.
The 73-year-old Charles, heir to the throne, withdrew from an event earlier this month after testing positive for the coronavirus for the second time.
A Palace source said that a few days earlier the British prince had met with the queen.
The health of the queen, the longest-lived and oldest monarch in the world, is in the spotlight after she spent a night in the hospital last October for an unknown reason and received a recommendation from doctors to rest.
On Wednesday, Queen Elizabeth informed Palace staff that she could not move easily after the first lifetime of her duties after her son, Prince Charles, tested positive for Covid-19.
