Britain announced today that the Russian Ministry of Defense has confirmed that it is using the TOS-1A weapons system in Ukraine, a system that uses thermobaric missiles.
“The Russian Foreign Ministry has confirmed the use of the TOS-1A weapon system in Ukraine,” he said on Twitter.
“TOS-1A uses thermobaric missiles, with incendiary and explosive effects.”

The United States has said the Russian military was using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in its offensive against Ukraine, according to a Pentagon staffer who assisted in compiling the report.
These are free fall bombs or “dumb bombs” – to emphasize the contrast with the so-called “smart bombs”.
“We have indications that the Russians are indeed dropping some stupid bombs,” said the unnamed official, adding that the United States was observing “widespread damage to civilian infrastructure and increased civilian casualties.”
The comments came after Ukraine accused Russia of bombing a children’s hospital in Mariupol, while Moscow denied launching attacks on civilians.
