Britain: Russia withdraws forces from Donbass and moves them to the southwest

Russia’s war in Ukraine is set to enter a new phase, with most of the fighting shifting to a front nearly 350 kilometers long running southwest from near Zaporizhia to Kherson, alongside the Dnieper River, Britain’s military service said today. information.

Russian forces are almost certainly massing in southern Ukraine, expecting a counter-attack or preparing for a possible attack, the British Ministry of Defense noted on Twitter.

Large convoys of Russian military trucks, tanks, towed artillery and other weapons continue to leave Ukraine’s Donbas region and head southwest.

Regular battalion groups, which consist of 800 to 1,000 soldiers, have been deployed in Crimea and are almost certain to be used to support Russian troops in the Kherson region, the briefing said.

Ukrainian forces are targeting bridges, ammunition depots, rail links with increasing frequency in its southern regions, including the strategically important rail crossing linking Kherson with Russian-held Crimea, it said.
