Russian forces continue to advance on Kiev as they seek to overthrow the Ukrainian government, the head of Britain’s military intelligence service said tonight.
“Russian forces are still moving in two directions toward Kiev. Their goal is to encircle the capital, gain control of the population and change the regime,” said Jim Hawkenhall.
“Russia continues to strike across Ukraine. During the night, it fired a series of strikes at targets in Kiev. Rocket launchers were used in Chernihiv and Kharkiv,” he added.
According to Hockenhall, the Ukrainian armed forces are strongly resisting and focusing on defending important cities throughout Ukraine.
