Britain said on Tuesday that Russia’s Black Sea fleet was currently struggling to exercise effective sea control, with patrols generally limited to waters within sight of Crimea’s coast, Reuters reported.
The Black Sea Fleet continues to use long-range cruise missiles to support land-based attacks but maintains a defensive posture, Britain’s Ministry of Defense said in its daily Twitter briefing.
The Black Sea Fleet’s currently limited effectiveness undermines Russia’s overall invasion strategy, in part because the amphibious threat to Odessa has now been largely neutralized, the intelligence briefing added.
