The latest round of British sanctions against Russia is designed to target those who promote state propaganda, British Foreign Secretary Liz Tras said today.
“Putin’s war in Ukraine is based on a torrent of lies,” Tras said in a statement.
“Britain has led the world in exposing the Kremlin’s misinformation, and this latest round of sanctions is targeting shameless propagandists who promote false news and Putin’s rhetoric,” she said.
Earlier in the day, the British government announced that it had made 14 additions to the list of sanctions against Russia for invading Ukraine.
He did not immediately specify which individuals or companies the new sanctions were imposed on.
