There are no plans for a Christmas party in the office of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Downing Street this year as the government focuses on tackling the spread of COVID-19, a Johnson spokesman said today.
Johnson has come under fire since the release of a video showing his executives laughing and joking about a Downing Street party during the 2020 Christmas lockdown, when such events were banned.
The spokesman also said that the Prime Minister has full confidence in his chief communications officer, Jack Doyle, following media reports that he had given a speech and distributed awards at the celebration that is supposed to have taken place on December 18 last year.
