Britain: Three suspects arrested after car bombing in Liverpool

Counterterrorism officials have arrested three suspects following a car bomb blast outside Liverpool Gynecology Hospital in northern England that killed one person and injured another, police said, adding that the counterterrorism service had added leads the research.

According to the police, a male passenger of the car was declared dead on the spot, while the driver, also a male, was injured and remains in the hospital in a stable condition.

British Home Secretary Pretty Patel said in a tweet that she was constantly informed about the incident.

Three men – aged 29, 26 and 21 – were arrested in the Kensington area of ​​the city and arrested under the Terrorism Act, police said in a statement.

Police believe the car involved in the incident was a taxi that stopped at the hospital shortly before the explosion.

Police Chief Sirena Kennedy said police were called after reports of a car bomb exploding shortly before 1 p.m. today.

“Work is underway to determine what happened,” he told the media.

“We remain open about what caused the explosion, but given how it happened, the counterterrorism is leading the investigation backed by Merseyside police.”

Police said the blast was not a terrorist act at this stage.
