Many people with respiratory problems are being treated by the London First Aid Service, which rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Water Park after a toxic smoke leak, the agency said.
The London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC), which manages the Olympic Park, announced that the incident occurred at 10.00 GMT (12.00 Greek time) and that the area was cordoned off and evacuated.
“We work closely with the on-site first aid services. We understand that there are a number of people with respiratory problems who are being treated by the London Ambulance Service.”
The service announced that several units rushed to the spot, while according to the first photos from Twitter, many ambulances are outside the pool facilities.
The Metropolitan Police announced that the incident concerns the leakage of toxic smoke.
