British extremists are convicted of terrorist attack planning

Three British extremists were convicted on Wednesday for planning a terrorist attack on mosques or synagogues as part of a “racial war,” the British police said.

Brogan Stewart and Marco Pitzettu, both 25, and Christopher Ringrose, 34, were preparing an act of terrorism when they were arrested in February 2024, prosecutors said at the beginning of the trial in March.

The trio was also accused of collecting information that may be useful for someone who is preparing an act of terrorism, while ringros was accused of making a component to a 3D printed FGC9 firearm.

They declared themselves innocent, but the jurors of the SHEFFIELD Crown Court condemned them for all accusations on Wednesday. They will be sentenced on July 17.

“Stewart, Pitzettu, and Ringrose have been justice today for various terrorism crimes,” said detectives superintendent James Dunkerley, chief anti-terrorism chief in the Northeast region in a statement.

“They were a group that advocated racist views and defended violence, all to support their extreme right mindset,” he added.

“Part of their defense in court was that everything was fantasy or just part of a harmless conversation, however, all three took real measures to plan and prepare to perform an attack on innocent citizens,” he argued.

Prosecutor Jonathan Sandiford highlighted to the jurors that the three defendants expressed admiration for Adolf Hitler and the perpetrators of notorious terrorist attacks, as well as hatred for non -white people, especially Muslims and immigrants.

“They believed that soon there would be a time when there would be a racial war between the whites and the other races,” said Sandiford.

Among hundreds of messages sent by the trio, including in a telegram group called “Einsatz 14”, the defendants discussed the execution of then Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and the torture of Imames (Muslim priest).
