Gunnercooke has announced that it has become the first UK law firm to settle accounts with clients in digital currencies.
Gunnercooke has agreed to cooperate with the Coinpass crypto asset exchange, registered by the British Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The exchange should automatically convert any payments to the law firm into its preferred currency.
“To date, only a few law firms in the US accept payment in digital currencies, so we are pleased to announce that we are the first in the UK to expand its client base through the adoption of cryptocurrencies,” said Gunnercooke CFO Naseer Patel (Naseer Patel).
According to company representatives, a significant part of their clients work with crypto assets and blockchain, so it is important for Gunnercooke to pay for services with digital currencies.
Earlier, Mozilla announced that it was stopping accepting donations in BTC, DOGE and ETH after criticism from developers. It was reported that criticism could be related to the negative impact of cryptocurrencies on the environment.
