British media: Boris Johnson can immediately announce “Plan B”

Britain may impose tougher measures on COVID-19, including the teleworking recommendation, as early as tomorrow, in a bid to slow the spread of the coronavirus’s Micron variant, according to media reports.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson could immediately announce Plan B, which could also include Covid ‘passports’ for large venues, according to unnamed government sources.

Times Radio presenter Tom Newton Dan said in a Twitter post that a source told him that a Plan B announcement was “85% likely”.

A spokesman for the prime minister’s office said he had no immediate comment.

Sterling and British government bond yields fell on reports and investors cut their estimates that the Bank of England will raise interest rates on December 16.
