The consequences of announcing the divorce of Britney Spears And Sam Asghari continued into the weekend with messages from both of them. As two people who bridge the gap between young and old millennials, they both chose Instagram, the medium of choice, to post about the end of their marriage. After all, their public outpourings are similar: They’re sorry it’s over and they’re doing their best. Plus, the paparazzi are relentless.
«As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together… 6 years is a long time to be with someone, so I’m a bit shocked but… I’m not here to explain why, because honestly it’s nobody’s business!!! But frankly I couldn’t take the pain anymore!!!” Spears wrote in the caption to a video of her dancing posted on Instagram last Saturday. «In a kind of telepathic way I keep getting tons of messages from friends that make my heart melt and I thank you!!!».
The post continued: “I’ve been playing the badass way too long and my Instagram may look perfect, but it’s far from reality and I think we all know that!!! I’d like to show how I really feel by letting go of tears and emotions, but [per] some reason i always had to hide my weaknesses!!! If I wasn’t my father’s strong soldier, I would have been sent somewhere to be treated by doctors!!! But that’s when I needed the family the most!!! One should be loved unconditionally…not under certain conditions!!! So I’ll be as strong as I can and I’ll do my best!!! And I’m actually doing great!!! Anyway, have a nice day and don’t forget to smile!!!”
Earlier in the week, Asghari wrote in an Instagram story: “These things happen.” The couple started dating in 2017 and Asghari was vocally supportive of Spears until her legal guardianship ended, from which she was officially released in November of 2021. He proposed to her in September of 2021 and the two tied the knot last June in a small ceremony in the backyard of Spears’ Thousand Oaks property. At the time, TMZ reported that a prenup would be in place before the wedding day to protect Spears’ assets.
The posts continued from both sides over the weekend, as both grapple with renewed interest from the paparazzi. Spears rightly suspects that someone leaked her whereabouts in Malibu Canyon and she was being followed.
«When you visit a so called “friend” and drive an hour for a chicken!!!» Spears wrote. “Then you have to wait in the car and you run away from going to the bathroom… I knew the paparazzi got a tip because the car I was in had never been used before… so how did they follow me???”.
In the other photos posted on Instagram, she can be seen “playing” with her “favorite boys”.
For his part, Asghari also played, but in disguise. Wearing various wigs, she asked her followers which ones were the best to deter the paparazzi.
