Britney Spears releases excerpts from her book; Michelle Williams will narrate the work

Singer Britney Spears has released a small spoiler related to her memoir, “The Woman in Me”, which is about to be released. On her account on X, formerly Twitter, the artist published excerpts that fans will find in the work.

“I envy people who can make fame work for them,” reads the first passage Spears shared. “My behavior was innocent – and it wasn’t acting. I didn’t know what I was doing.”

The information continues: “It felt like I was living on the edge of the abyss. I don’t want it to be real, this is just a dream. If you supported me, when even I couldn’t: from the bottom of my heart, thank you.”

With scheduled release date for October 24th , the “little pop princess” recruited another celebrity to narrate her audiobook. Sources told TMZ that Britney found it too painful to retell sections about her family in her own voice, so editors looked for an alternative.

According to “People”, michelle williams will narrate parts of the audio edit. The celebrity will record an introduction, while Williams will lend his voice to the rest.

Britney recently explained that the book – which takes its title from lyrics from her 2001 hit ‘I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman’ – is the result of extensive therapy.

“This book was a labor of love and all the emotions that come with it,” Britney told the magazine. “Reliving it all was emotional, moving and moving, to say the least. For these reasons, I will only read a small portion of my audiobook,” she said.

The book sets out to narrate, for the first time, the extraordinary trajectory and influence at the heart of one of the most iconic artists in the history of pop music. In fact, according to the vehicle, the book will present Britney’s memories over the years, expressed in her own words.

Britney is the third in her family to release a book telling the story of her rise to fame, with her mother Lynne Spears writing ‘Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World’ in 2008 and her younger sister Jamie Lynn having published ‘Things I Should Have Said’ in 2021.
