Brixen Classics: the Bressanone festival to start the perfect summer

A beautiful village, the Dolomites, great music, amazing food and wine, and all in one holiday: that’s why to leave for the Brixen Classics, the festival that since 13 to 20 June will animate Bressanone. It is the oldest town in Tyrol, among dreamlike peaks such as Plose, with an elegant medieval old town full of arcades, museums, buildings and marvelous churches like the Duomo and the Bishop’s Palace, and one step away, treasures like theAbbey of Novacella, a masterpiece of art and architecture surrounded by the northernmost vineyards of Italy where great whites such as Müller Thurgau are produced.

These are some of the places that on the occasion of the Brixen Classics they will host concerts with world-famous soloists and performances in which renowned orchestras – starting with the same Brixen Classic Festival Orchestra – will play alongside highly talented students with a program ranging from great work to chamber music to be enjoyed while tasting delicacies.

The festival opens with A Night at the Opera: grand gala at the Hofburg with the most beautiful arias of the most famous operas by Verdi, Rossini, Puccini and Mozart paired with great wines. It then continues with Masters Selection in the square of the Abbey of Novacella: here the notes of the soprano Camilla Nylund and the pianist Julia Okruashvili – with songs and music by Jean Sibelius, Edvard Grieg, Richard Strauss and Johann Strauss – will be combined with wine tastings and cheese specialties selected by the refiner Hansi Baumgartner. For the Sounding Vineyards instead, there will be a musical walk through the vineyards above the Novacella Abbey, including concerts of various styles and tastings in the Köfererhof, Strasserhof and Pacherhof cellars. It will be a dream too A Midsummernight’s Dream, in the garden of the castle of Pallaus: a secret place, normally not accessible, which will be open for this festival that will make us start the perfect summer.
