“Brother of Jorel” wins International Award for Best Series

The Brazilian series “Brother of Jorel” prize “Best Series” in 8th edition of the Ibero-American Animation Quirino Awards with its fifth season.

The animation, which turned 10 in 2024, shows the life of the unnamed boy, known only to be the brother of Jorel, the youngest son of a family arrested in the 80s. Along with his best friend Lara, he faces the challenges of life while trying to get out of the shadow of his popular brother, Jorel.

Creation of Juliano Enrico “Brother of Jorel” debuted in September 22, 2014 and became a symbol of Brazilian children’s television.

The fifth season debuted at Max’s streaming service in October 2024. The final episodes were released at the Max streaming service on Friday (16). From May 19, the production reaches the Cartoon Network with exhibitions from Monday to Friday at 13h, and reruns at 7h and 20h30. On Saturdays, the episodes airs at 5:30 pm, and on Sundays at 12h.

This is not the first time the animation has won the Quirino awards. In 2019, “Brother of Jorel” won in the same category with the third season.
