Social media has been inflaming in the last few hours by the fact that the concert by Bruce Springsteen scheduled today, Thursday 18 May, to be held regularly in Ferrara despite the dramatic wave of bad weather that hit Emilia Romagna, causing casualties and damage. At the moment, the organizers have confirmed the live performance of the Bossto which 50,000 people are expected, also because the city is not in the red zone but, despite this, many are asking that the event be canceled and that Bruce Springsteen step aside as a sign of respect for the dead and countries submerged in mud.
“Once we went to shovel and help those submerged in mud, not to sing and dance carefree in the same area,” wrote journalist Tiziana Ferrario on Twitter, followed by many other commentators who they define the decision to confirm the concert in the face of a weather emergency as embarrassing among the most devastating in recent years. “I wonder with what spirit they will sing their hearts out while a few kilometers from them there are people who have lost everything”, someone asks, clamoring for respect for the victims. And while someone even calls Interior Minister Piantedosi into question, hoping that he can cancel the concert by virtue of common sense, the controversy is rampant.
