Actor Bruce Willis turned 68 this Sunday (19). On social networks, his wife, Emma Heming, shared a video in which she talks about her husband, diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, and says that he cried in the morning and faces moments of sadness every day.
Emma says that for dealing with her husband’s situation, she receives a lot of praise from the public, but regrets not having a choice. “I really wish I had. But I am also raising two children.”
She also says that the videos she has been making to update the actor’s health status are like “a knife in my heart”.
Finally, she thanked all the manifestations of solidarity and support that she and Bruce receive from the fans. In addition to the statement, Emma published another video with several moments with her husband.
Actress Demi Moore, Bruce’s ex-wife, also attended the actor’s birthday and recorded a video showing the family celebration and the moment when Bruce blows out the candles on the cake.
According to the American website RadarOnline.com, Demi Moore, star of the iconic film “Ghost” (1990), would have moved in with actor Bruce Willis and his current wife after the Hollywood star was diagnosed with dementia.
The artist would have decided to live in the couple’s residence in California, in the United States, to help Emma take care of the actor. “Demi moved in with them and will stay there until the end,” a source told the site.
Since last year, it has become public that the star of “Die Hard” was facing an illness that would make him unable to continue acting. At the time, the diagnosis was aphasia, a speech disorder. It was then that the actor announced his retirement.
Almost a year later, on the 16th of February, the family’s statement confirmed the diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD). In the text, family members stated that, despite being difficult, it was a relief to be sure of a clear diagnosis.
Willis’ most recent work is “Detective Knight: Independence”, released in January 2023 and is the third installment in the “Detective Knight” thriller film series. He also has the action movie “Assassin” scheduled to be released on the 31st of this month.
