Actress Bruna Marquezine declared early this Friday (14) that she joined the strike of Hollywood actors and screenwriters.
The initiative started at midnight this Friday, and is a union strike of actors from SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild). On her social networks, the actress shared a video of her co-star, Xolo Maridueña, talking about the subject and said that she will always be on the side that fights for art.
“Thank you so much for all your love (…) I will always be on the side of initiatives that fight for the progress of the artistic community, whether in my country or abroad”, she began.
In addition, Bruna explained that, as it is a strike, all publicity and work of the actors will be paralyzed and asked for help from fans in the promotion of her new film, “Besouro Azul”, which opens in August in cinemas worldwide.
“As the actors can no longer participate in any promotion of their projects until the end of the strike, the support of the fans will be fundamental to bring the visibility and recognition that Besouro Azul deserves”, explained the artist.
Marquezine thanked the cast of the DC feature and said he will always be with them.
strike in hollywood
The actors and writers strike in Hollywood was officially announced by SAG-AFTRA, a union that represents more than 160 thousand actors in the United States.
In this stoppage, the actors are joining the screenwriters who have been stopped since May 1st in search of better working conditions. Professionals in the area should participate in protests starting this Friday (14).
“What is happening to us is happening in all professional areas. When employers make Wall Street and greed a priority and forget about the essential workers who make the machine turn, we have a problem,” said Fran Drescher, president of SAG during the announcement of the shutdown.
